Among the architectural masterpieces of Rome, St. Peter's is one of the most popular destinations for tourists, for its masterpieces and the history it can tell.
Few, however, know of a very special spot where the dome can be admired. It is in fact **the keyhole of the gate of the Priory of the Knights of Malta.

From this unique position, it is possible to see the Basilica immersed in the hedges of the 18th-century garden surrounded by the colours of the sky; we recommend a visit around sunset for an even more evocative memory.
This perspective, which may appear to be the result of chance, was actually created following renovations that took place around 1765.
Nearby you can also admire the Orange Garden and the Circus Maximus.
To reach the attraction from the campsite, from the bus stop just outside the campsite you can take bus no. 246 or 247 (direction Cornelia for the 246 or Cipro Metro Station for the 247) which will take you to the Metro A Cornelia stop. From there you can take the metro A to Termini, once you have made the change, take the metro B in the direction of Circo Massimo you will arrive in the immediate vicinity, on foot in about 15 minutes you will have reached your destination
On the return journey, simply take metro B, direction Termini and then metro A direction Battistini, to the Cornelia stop and then on the same route you can take one of the two buses mentioned above (direction Malagrotta for the 246 and Stazione Aurelia for the 247) to the supermarket stop in front of the campsite.
Alternatively, a 1 km walk from the campsite is the Roma Aurelia train stop, where you can take a train to Roma Termini station, from there you can simply take the metro B from Termini to Circo Massimo
